What You Will Learn

Italian art has been lauded for centuries, beginning as far back as the Etruscans, then followed by the Renaissance. Beautiful art is like a house with good bones; nature’s biophilic shapes have influenced art and design absolutely and unquestionably since the beginning of time – form follows function. You’ll see the details in masterpieces of painting, sculpture, furniture, architecture that will enable you to articulate the reason artwork is world famous and fully holds your attention.

Join Mark Rosenhaus, President of Rosenhaus Design, as he dives into the creative mindset of Michelangelo, Alexander Calder, Frank Lloyd Wright to understand what they were thinking – and the kitchen designs that emulate.

During this session, you will:

  • Learn the Golden Proportion based on the Fibonacci Sequence.
  • Understand what great artists were thinking while creating great works.
  • Learn how to articulate how masterpieces are achieved in design.

Mark Rosenhaus – President – Rosenhaus Design

Mark graduated from Pratt Institute in Interior Architecture attracted to the modern forms, curves and the abstract by Mondrian, Van Gogh, Alexander Calder, and many others. Years later, upon learning of the Fibonacci Numbers and 62% golden proportion his designs came to fruition. Mark professes that cabinets can be more than mere boxes; they can have the artfulness of 3-dimensional sculpture. Mark has been a kitchen designer for 39 years. An expert on proportion, for the past 22 years, his program: ‘Geometry in Nature – The DNA of Design’ has drawn high praise at KBIS and many National Kitchen & Bath Association chapters across the country. In 2009 it won the NKBA Chapter Program of the Year Award and has garnered over 55,000 views.
