Kick off KBIS at the amazing Design Competition & Industry Awards and Opening Night Party. By Dianne M. Pogoda

It’s one of KBIS’ can’t-miss moments — the Design Competition and Industry Awards/Opening Night Party — and it’s sure to be a dazzling evening.

This special event — our very own “Oscars” — takes place on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, in the Encore Ballroom at the Encore Hotel, the night before the three-day Kitchen & Bath Industry Show opens. This year, NKBA is delighted to present as our Mistress of Ceremonies, celebrity designer Kelli Ellis.

Kelli is an accomplished interior designer, Certified Life Coach and Design Psychology Coach, and stars in her own show on The Design Network, Design Therapy. She has appeared as the featured designer on many other shows, including TLC’s Clean SweepHGTV’s Takeover my Makeover, and productions of Value BoostersMove or Improve and The House Therapist, as well as in numerous publications and websites.

(You can also catch Kelli again when she hosts DesignBites at the KBISNeXT Stage, Wednesday from 12 noon to 1:15 p.m.)

The elegant awards ceremony typically draws about 1,200 people, and is an industry-wide celebration recognizing the best and most creative professionals in the field of kitchen and bath design and remodeling. Winning designers are revealed on the spot, and share in cash prizes. They’ll be honored in design categories for kitchens or baths, in small, medium and large sizes; budget-friendly and large luxury kitchen or bath. Additionally, the best overall kitchen and bath designs — winners of $10,000 each — are chosen from among the first-place winners in the various categories. These top winners will also be featured in an issue of Luxe magazine.

NKBA will recognize the winners of its Student Design Competition as well, a special induction ceremony pays tribute to the 2019 National Kitchen and Bath Hall of Fame honorees, plus there are more surprises along the way.

Then, the party gets rolling with scrumptious food, drink, music and mingling. It’s an evening filled with fun and anticipation, as we get ready to kick off the highlight of our year — KBIS!

Tickets, including the awards and party with buffet dinner and open bar, are $125. Attendees may purchase tickets on www.kbis.com or at show registration on-site.
