Participants will cover important design considerations for kitchens and apply basic NKBA Planning Guidelines. At the end of the program, participants will have the skills needed to interview a client, design a single wall and L-shaped kitchen, and specify the proper equipment.

The program is composed of six individual courses, each taking approximately one hour to complete. Each course will cover topics and terms discussed within the following volumes of the Professional Resource Library (PRL):

  • Kitchen & Bath Products
  • Kitchen & Bath Drawing
  • Kitchen Planning

Participants will have an opportunity to review these key concepts through a variety of activities and assessments built into each course. It is highly recommended participants have access to the above-mentioned volumes within the Professional Resource Library.

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • List common cabinet nomenclature
  • Apply basic NKBA Planning Guidelines to kitchen designs
  • Determine proper appliance placement
  • Use the “subtraction method” to account for every inch of available kitchen space
  • Create a single wall and an L-shaped kitchen design
