Mutina Joins NKBA Global Connect

The Italian tile and ceramics design brand brings leading designers’ concepts to North America.

Mutina is a design project that unites technology, craft, experimentation and research to push the boundaries of the material itself and create a high-quality product.

Mutina derives from the natural need to urge top designers to bring their ideas, for the first time, to the world of ceramics covering materials.

Mutina has collaborated with world-renowned designers such as Michael Anastassiades, Barber & Osgerby, Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, Nathalie Du Pasquier, Konstantin Grcic, Hella Jongerius, Laboratorio Avallone, OEO Studio, Raw Edges, Inga Sempé, Patricia Urquiola, Vincent Van Duysen and Tokujin Yoshioka, to create its unique collections.

Its collections come from the continuous search for the most advanced technologies to produce ceramic tiles that adapt to architecture like a second skin. Ceramics are no longer tiles, but objects of interior design.

In 2023, Mutina has reinforced its presence in North America opening Mutina America Corp., with headquarters in New York and warehousing in New Jersey. It has joined the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA)’s Global Connect program and it will exhibit for the first time at KBIS 2024 in Las Vegas, Feb. 27-29.

The company produces unique ceramic and porcelain tile collections and handcrafted decorative pieces, paints, wood and metal architectural elements, trims and accessories. With its entry into the North American market, it aims to stock its best-selling collections for fast delivery.

“The Mutina America Program includes floor and wall combinations that can be designed as a single-item design, or a combination of various items,” said Andrea Bacchini, CEO of Mutina America. “The purpose is to have a ‘ready-easy-to-go’ program for multiple spaces in the home, for which we can suggest combinations of the different materials, to fully express the potential of the collections stored on-site. We look forward to working with NKBA and developing our client base in North America and sharing our collections at KBIS.”

Mutina has collaborated with world-renowned designers and studios such as Vincent Van Duysen, Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, Tokujin Yoshioka, Patricia Urquiola and numerous others, to create its unique artisan collections.

“We are pleased to welcome Ceramiche Mutina to the NKBA Global Connect program,” said Suzie Williford, EVP and chief strategy officer of NKBA, “and we look forward to seeing them exhibit their stunning tile collections at KBIS. Our NKBA Global Connect program seeks to strengthen kitchen and bath communities domestically and internationally, and help our members make connections to build a presence in North America and globally. We are proud to be the catalyst for these connections.”

NKBA represents nearly 50,000 North American kitchen and bath industry professionals and owns the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), North America’s premier trade expo devoted to all aspects of kitchen and bath design and remodeling. Its Global Connect program offers opportunities for international K&B firms to explore operations in North America, with access to expert business advisors, proprietary research, exclusive events and more.
