Nathan Parsons
CEO, The Porcelain Slab Co.
The Porcelain Slab Company’s CEO Nathan Parsons has preached the gospel on why porcelain slabs can be a practical surface material since his first training in 2014. With over 16 years of experience in stone shops of various sizes, Mr. Parsons has been able to merge proper TCNA methodology with the procedures found in most stone shops. Asked about the need to understand the two industries of tile and stone, Mr. Parsons says “If you don’t understand how to prep, flatten, mix thinset, or trowel, then you’ll never get the slab to stick on the wall. But if you cant figure out how to transport, handle, manipulate or cut a slab, then you’ll never get the chance to stick it.” Offering his broad knowledge has allowed Mr. Parsons to train tile installers and fabricators of all shop sizes around the country.
Realizing that successful porcelain slab installations required a strong tile background, Mr. Parsons decided it was invaluable to qualify as a Certified Tile Installer. Thus, in January 2025, Mr. Parsons passed his CTI Test, earning #1969. “It took me 7 years to get the boldness to take that test. It was the best decision I could have made to reaffirm my commitment to handling installations correctly.”
Constantly learning from and listening to others led Mr. Parsons to start a podcast dedicated to the discussion of learning thru failure with GPTP. Parsons says regarding these conversations with other pros, “It’s amazing how many lessons we all learned, at the same time, and in similar ways, but in our own unique markets. It’s been so helpful to share those lessons with our listeners.” You can find the podcast “Porcelain Predications” on Apple and Spotify.
