Thirty Under 30: Allison Green

Allison Green may not have officially launched her design career until after she earned her Associate of Arts in Architecture from Blinn College in Bryan, TX in 2018, but her childhood passions certainly mapped the path she would take. “Growing up, I loved rearranging my room, drawing, and experimenting with design in every way I could,” says Allison, whose father is a home builder. “I also spent time helping my dad with his business, which gave me early exposure to both creativity and construction.”

Allison, now 30, has for the past four years been the Lead Designer and Showroom Manager at Cabinet IQ of Austin. In her role, she has overseen end-to-end client experiences — from consultations to design to final installation — on more than 100 kitchen and bath projects. Her goal: to seamlessly blend functionality and aesthetics. “My favorite part of the job is walking clients through their 3D renderings,” she says. “Watching their face light up as they see their dream kitchen come to life is the best feeling.”

Allison, who describes herself as “driven,” has also had the professional bandwidth to juggle her own design responsibilities while playing an integral role in scaling Cabinet IQ into a national franchise. When the company expanded into franchising, she joined the development team and helped create the training programs, design resources, and operational processes that support new locations. She has also personally assisted multiple showrooms with their launches by mentoring new designers and owners to ensure success.

In her Texas Hill Country market, Allison says one of her most memorable projects was designing a luxury penthouse in downtown Austin. “The scope included custom cabinetry in ten different rooms — everything from the kitchen and bathrooms to a hidden pantry, two home offices, and more,” she notes. “The challenge of balancing functionality with high-end finishes and tailoring every detail to the client’s lifestyle pushed me creatively in the best way.”

When it comes to her own design style, Allison leans toward European-inspired, organic modern design. “I love warm, neutral palettes, rich wood tones, natural stone, and textures that bring depth without overwhelming the space,” she says. “My focus is always on creating timeless designs with just enough trend to feel fresh and current, but not so much that they’ll look dated a few years from now.”

When she’s not curating her own spaces at home — which she shares with her two cats, Milo and Remi — Allison enjoys going to concerts and traveling. A favorite destination is Colorado, where “the mix of mountain views, charming towns, and city life feels so refreshing and always sparks new inspiration for me.” As for the future, she aspires to accomplish three goals: starting her own design business, designing and building her own dream home, and traveling throughout Europe.
