The General Election is November 5, 2024, and many important decisions for our nation, states, and local areas will be made at the ballot box. At the Federal Level, the U.S. Presidency as well as all 435 House and 33 (of 100) Senate seats are up for a vote in the November General Election. Additionally, voters in 46 states, the District of Columbia, and scores of county and municipal governments will be selecting elected state and local officials as well as deciding ballot initiatives.

No matter who you choose to vote for, NKBA | KBIS urges you to exercise your right to participate in the electoral process, by registering to vote, learning about the issues and candidates, and then casting your vote. Here is some information that may help!

If you have not registered to vote, want to change your party affiliation, have moved, or changed your name since the last election, go to vote.gov.  From the Homepage, click “Register to Vote” and select your state from the dropdown. From here, you can register or make the desired name, address or political party changes, or request a copy of your voter registration card.

Further exploration around the vote.gov website will also lead to you to detailed information about the election process, registration deadlines, early voting dates, absentee ballot requests, and Election Day poll hours. In most cases, you will also be connected to state or local government sites which list the federal, state, and local candidates in your area as well as any ballot initiatives being considered.

Finally, if you are interested in the Presidential Debates, mark your calendar for September 10th, and keep an eye on your preferred news outlets. As of this writing the only confirmed debate for the two major party candidates will occur on Tuesday, September 10th at 9pm EST on ABC. The campaigns have also agreed to a Vice-Presidential debate on October 1st on CBS; the exact time has yet to be confirmed.
