Thirty Under 30: Kianna Patrick

Kianna Patrick is one of the outstanding young professionals in NKBA’s Thirty Under 30 Class of 2026.

By Donna Heiderstadt

Some childhood dreams do come true — just ask Kianna Patrick. As a young girl, she was inspired by an aunt who was studying design and who transformed her bedroom into a “space filled with personality and comfort.” Embracing her own natural eye for design led young Kianna to create entire worlds in The Sims as well as reimagine rooms and style spaces in real life as she discovered that she could find joy by shaping how people feel in their environment.

After earning a degree in Marketing & Hospitality from Georgia State University, Kianna began her career in the event industry — embracing yet another way of creating meaningful experiences. When gatherings were put on hold by the pandemic, she found her way back to her first love by diving into design books and online tutorials and eventually pursuing formal training in the Kitchen and Bath Design program at Gwinnett Technical College. In 2025, Kianna became a Design Consultant at Atlanta-based Construction Resources design studio, where in just seven months she has closed over $650,000 in sales.

“I love that this field challenges me to balance creativity with precision — blending aesthetics, functionality, and problem-solving in a way that constantly keeps me inspired.”

As she guides homeowners, designers, and builders through the material selection process, 29-year-old Kianna is passionate about her job. “I love that this field challenges me to balance creativity with precision — blending aesthetics, functionality, and problem-solving in a way that constantly keeps me inspired.” One of her most meaningful projects has been working with the non-profit Sunshine on a Ranney Day to design and select materials for a bathroom renovation for a family with physical disability challenges.

Kianna has also begun planting the seeds for her own design studio, Elan Lane Interiors, aspiring to build a practice that reflects who she is as a designer. Describing her personal design style as “ever-evolving,” she says her preferences are rooted in contrast where bold silhouettes meet soft details. “I draw inspiration from both contemporary and maximalist influences, finding harmony between the two,” she explains. “Sculptural forms, layered textures, and thoughtful details that add a sense of warmth, whimsy, and personality to a space.”

In her spare time, Kianna expresses herself through collage art and says mixed-media creations — sketches, watercolors, and oil pastels — fill her art journal. Travel also inspires her. “I love Chicago,” she says. “The architecture is absolutely stunning, and the energy of the city always makes me feel so alive. If it weren’t for the snow, I’d probably call it home!” She also feels a special connection to the Caribbean, where her family is from. “Honestly, I’m happiest anywhere that has a beautiful beach where I can relax and recharge,” she says.

As for her life’s must-do list, Kianna intends to keep following her dreams. “I plan to develop Élan Lane Interiors into a full-service Design + Build firm that creates custom homes and one-of-a-kind spaces,” she says. “I would also love to experience living abroad, even if it’s just for a few months, or dedicate a year to travel slowly and intentionally.”
