Thirty Under 30: Abby Killorin

That old saying, “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree,” certainly applies to Abby Killorin — although she has definitely put a creative spin on her own career trajectory. “I grew up in a household deeply connected to the kitchen and bath industry,” says the 27-year-old, who is an Account Supervisor at Ridgeland, MS-based The Ramey Agency, leading the advertising firm’s work across its Home and Culinary portfolio. “My dad has been an industrial designer for over 25 years, and my mom has worked in appliance product training and development for the same amount of time. Seeing their passion for their work gave me a firsthand look at how close-knit, exciting ,and collaborative this industry can be.” 

Recently promoted after working as a Senior Account Manager for a year and a half, Abby now juggles multiple responsibilities across the agency. She conducts industry research to stay on top of home and culinary trends and create thought leadership pieces that inform both current clients (which include Zip Water, Dornbracht, Viking, and Hestan) and new prospects. She’s also responsible for client management, ensuring that brand campaigns are moving forward smoothly, and for strategic development that helps shape media strategies and website initiatives. “What I love most about my job is the variety — balancing creativity and strategy while helping brands grow in a constantly evolving industry,” she says.

Her strategic vision earned her the “Growth Focused” award at The Ramey Agency’s internal recognition ceremony. Abby has also put her skills to use during KBIS, where she was tasked with helping bring a client’s booth to life. “I was involved in every aspect — from design and planning to on-site support, managing events and interactions at the booth, and coordinating with the PR team to ensure media coverage and tours,” says Abby. “It was incredibly rewarding to see all of our hard work come together and create such a dynamic, successful experience.”

According to Abby, the word that best describes her is “driven” — so it’s hardly surprising that outside of work she stays active through running, tennis, and teaching reformer Pilates. But Abby also enjoys reading and needlepoint and spending time with her incredibly supportive husband, Coleman, and their sweet English Cream Golden Retriever, Beau. “My husband encourages me to pursue opportunities that fulfill me, both personally and professionally,” she says. “Maintaining work-life balance is important to me, so I make a conscious effort to dedicate time to my family, my friends, community involvement, and the hobbies that keep me grounded and energized outside of work.”

Still, Abby admits that her chosen career of helping position, market, and grow luxury kitchen and bath brands is uniquely satisfying. “Having grown up around this industry and now getting to work in it for the past four years has been an incredible full-circle experience,” she says.

When Abby wants to get away from work life, her favorite destination is Jackson Hole, WY. “There is so much to do, and mountains are my favorite place to be,” she says. As for her future goals, Abby’s driven nature means she has dreams aplenty. “There are many things on my bucket list,” she says, “but one of my more recent must do’s is attending the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament.”
