What You Will Learn

Electric kitchens are a hot topic right now, not only in the K&B Industry but in homes throughout America. During this session, Andrew Forlines will outline the de-carbonization movement and building codes being implemented in many cities/counties across the USA. We will detail the negative aspects of gas burning in the home; practical application limitations and overall environmental impact.

Andrew will describe the benefits of electric powered induction cooking; more powerful, precise, safe, clean, requires less ventilation, and twice as efficient as gas burners. He will provide us the secret weapon of professional chefs; the steam-oven and sous vide cooking and explain the food science behind these technologies. Together we will identify how kitchen designers can talk to clients about embracing the new all-electric kitchen with enthusiasm.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to understand the negatives of in-home gas burning.
  • Learn the best options for an all electric kitchen.
  • Gain the ability to communicate how induction burners are better than gas burners in the home kitchen to client.

I’m Chef Andrew Forlines, I provide education on built-in home kitchen appliances to kitchen designers and homeowners, among others.
There is more variety and complexity available than ever before when it comes to built-in home kitchen appliances. Steam ovens, induction burners, sous vide cooking, WiFi connectivity, and automated cooking are just some of the many cooking technologies to select from. Much of this technology has migrated from the fine dining restaurant industry that I worked many years in. My experience as a chef and passion for cooking technology combines in my
role as your guide to understanding, selecting, and using modern home kitchen cooking appliances with confidence! I offer consultations and webinars on my website, www.chefaf.com.
