  • Learn strategies for integrating adaptive technologies and functional design elements into contemporary kitchen aesthetics to create spaces that are both beautiful and aging in place friendly.

Janet Engel, VP of Clinical Strategy & Engagement at DwellSafe

Janet is a licensed occupational therapist (OT) in the state of Georgia. Her career began with a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2008.

For the last decade, Janet has worked in the home health sector with older adults.

She has dedicated her career to helping individuals cope with various health conditions and diseases, so that they may enjoy their lives to the fullest. In 2020, Janet became a Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) through the National Association of Home Builders.

She is also credentialed through the University of California Leonard School of Gerontology with the Executive Certificate in Home Modification (ECHM).

In addition, Janet is an educator for the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), teaching CAPS courses and Universal Design.
