Dear Chapter Officers,

Happy New Year! Cheers to our incredible Chapter Officers!

We look forward to a fantastic year with all of you, beginning with KBIS next month. The countdown is on – but in January, it’s all about 2025 goals

As you know, all Chapters are required to submit your Strategic Goals by the end of the quarter. It’s time to submit your Compliance Form (includes Strategic Goals); Year-End Financial Report; and Initiative Grant Application. Please reach out to us at chapters@nkba.org if you have any questions regarding these required forms.

Our January Chapter Officer Zoom calls are mandatory for this month only. All officers will review roles and responsibilities with the NKBA Chapters team. We will send meeting links and reminders for the calls, as follows: Chapter Presidents (Jan 14, 4 PM ET); Programs Chairs (Jan 21, 3 PM ET); Communications Chairs (Jan 21, 4 ET); Membership Chairs (Jan 22, 3 PM ET); and Secretary/Treasurers (Jan 22, 4 PM ET).

Even if you are continuing in your role in 2025, please take time to review all the various links in your Chapter Officer Toolkit on nkba.org.

We are excited to introduce our 2025 Chapter Leadership Committee! The CLC will be an invaluable resource to our Chapter Officers throughout the year. Thank you to our CLC members starting their terms on Jan 1: Sadie Anderson, Nebraska/Kansas; Kimberly Kerl, Piedmont Blue Ridge Carolina; Rima Nasr, Texas Gulf Coast; Julie Schuster, Manhattan; Brianna Weiler, Mid Atlantic. We invite all our Chapter Officers to self-nominate for a position on the CLC – applications open in September. Candidates must have served a full term (two years) as a Chapter Officer within the past two calendar years. CLC members are selected by the NKBA Leadership Recruitment Committee (LRC). CLC terms are three (3) years. Roles and responsibilities include attending quarterly Zoom meetings; reaching out to assigned Chapter Officers to offer assistance and guidance; reviewing nominations and selecting Chapter Star Award recipients; and assisting at KBIS during Leader2Leader.

More exciting news – NKBA Chapters team recently joined forces with Learning & Certification. Kristin, Elizabeth, Melissa, and I are excited to work hand-in-hand with Kelly Ann Ryan, Learning Program Manager; Robert Novellino, Learning Program Systems Manager; and newest team member, Veronica Whitehead, Certification Program Manager. The new Chapters & Learning department looks forward to working closely with you in the New Year!

See you soon on Zoom! We look forward to hearing your goals and to helping you achieve and exceed them in 2025.

Best,

Kelly
