The NKBA/John Burns Kitchen & Bath Market Index (KBMI) is a quarterly gauge of current and future market conditions within the kitchen & bath industry. Nearly 600 NKBA members across our four primary industry segments – Design, Building & Construction, Manufacturing and Retail – participated. Results are compared to the previous four quarters to determine industry direction based on the experiences of those on the front line. The report delves into marketplace shifts, with detailed updates of each segment’s challenges and opportunities. It includes a generous helping of quotes from respondents that provide valuable insight.
Key TakeawaysÂ
- The overall K&B index remained in solidly expanding territory at 78.7, but has cooled from the record 82.3 last quarter.
- Expected future activity has also tailed off a bit. It peaked in Q1 at 82.4 and now stands at 70.6. In relative terms, the outlook remains quite positive.Â
- Members are calling for a 9% gain in sales for 2022, impressive if it holds true given this year’s strong growth.Â
