What You Will Learn

In this webinar, we will explore natural wood as a design and construction material. We’ll look at how wood cabinetry and other products are sustainable and beautiful. Starting with the basics, we will learn about different types of wood and their production, and our expectations for each. From solids to crosscuts and veneers, maple to walnut, we’ll explore what makes each unique and wonderful. We will review past, current, and upcoming wood cabinetry trends.

Anneke Huisman, Senior Designer of KSI Kitchen & Bath, is an NKBA-certified cabinetry specialist with over 20 years of experience assisting clients in home improvement projects with a focus on kitchens and baths. From lakeshore homes and woodland retreats to high-rise condos with modern style, her passion is finding the right balance of form, function, and personality for each of her clients.

She has shared her extensive industry knowledge in articles included in Grand Rapids Cosmopolitan Home, West Michigan Home and Lifestyle, and other industry publications. She volunteers by serving on the board for the NKBA West Michigan chapter and has been recognized by Kitchen and Bath Design News as a 2024 industry innovator. An Art and English BA graduate of Calvin College, she lives in Kentwood, Michigan, with her 3 teens, 2 dogs, and husband.
