What You Will Learn

During this session, join Ashley Bancroft of Premiere Systems Design, as she educates on why lighting is critical to how we live our lives indoors and out. It might even surprise you to learn that a smart lighting keypad can not only control lights, but also your home entertainment.

To wet your appetite, imagine returning home after a long day at work. It’s pitch-black outside, your kids are at their friends’ house, and your spouse is still at work. You’re nervous about entering a dark home until you remember that your smart lighting system knows when sunset is, ensuring that your driveway will be illuminated as you arrive home. As you enter the house and press the “welcome scene,” you’ll be greeted by an illuminated path of light, your favorite music will emanate from your speakers and your television will boot up your favorite program. When you leave for work the next day and you rush out the door, a “goodbye” scene will turn everything off — the lights, TVs, and stereos. You’ll never fret that you left something on again. Plus, your home will save energy and your pocketbook will enjoy savings too.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand why and how smart home lighting means never looking at “wall acne” again.
  • Learn how programmable scenes such as “welcome home”, “goodnight” and “goodbye” can help routinize your life and encourage good sleep hygiene.
  • Learn best practices of designing indoor and outdoor smart home lighting systems.
