Erika Jayne Design is a full-service residential design firm located just outside of Washington, DC. Specializing in interior design and architectural planning, Erika Jayne Design works with clients to design new space, re-design existing, and finish the space with lighting, furniture, accessory selections and custom pieces for the home. Kitchen & bath design is our sweet spot and we are in full demand with clients currently on a waitlist to enlist in our services. In order to facilitate our growth, we are looking to hire P/T and F/T Kitchen & Bath designers to our team. Sales are great but unlike many kitchen & bath firms, we are driven by design, not sales. If you have an interior design background with AutoCAD skills and love re-designing existing space and creating new space, this would be a perfect fit for you. If you have an architectural background and love working with interiors, this would be a perfect fit for you. Many of our projects involve interior architectural changes and require a complete set of construction documents to submit for permitting. We work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors and we are an integral part of the project from the design to the construction phase. Responsibilities: ~Project & client management from consultation to completion. ~Accurately field measure and transcribe to existing plans. ~Creating detailed construction documents, to include: floor plans, renderings, elevations, lighting/electrical plans, tile plans, cabinetry layout, color selections, countertops, tile, appliances, and accessories. ~Creatively solve spacial problems with an eye for the aesthetics. ~Present a realistic timeline and budget. ~Communicate the design and coordinate the installation with the installers/contractor. ~Keep paper trails, collect payments, and log design hours, receipts, and expenses. ~Prioritize a positive and exciting design experience for the client. ~Handle issues with orders or unforeseen design-related changes by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations. ~Help clients select products based on their needs, product specifications, and regulations. ~Emphasize product features based on analysis of the client's needs, technical k knowledge of product capabilities and limitations. ~Negotiate prices and prepare sales agreements, contracts and submit orders for processing. Requirements: ~Minimum 1-2 years experience as a K&B designer or in the interior design/architectural field. ~20/20 Design Software ~AutoCAD Software ~SketchUp (Bonus Points) ~NKBA certified (Double Bonus Points) ~A positive vibe and a good sense of humor (Triple Bonus Points) Please respond with your resume, references, and portfolio to be considered.
