Job Title: Kitchen and Bath Sales Reports To: Branch Manager and/or Assistant Branch Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Summary To engage in face to face, phone and electronic sales by utilizing exceptional customer service and sales skills in order to execute functional design and layout solutions. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Customer Service • Acknowledge, greet and assist customers in a timely and professional manner • Handle telephone and electronic inquiries efficiently and effectively • Identify the needs and provide the appropriate level of assistance to the customer • Effectively research and resolve customer complaints and conflicts Sales Skills • Understand the marketplace • Know product features • Work to meet prospect customers’ needs • Effective suggestive and upgrade selling and add on sales • Effective closing technique • Quote follow up- quote to order conversion • Develop a continuous business relationship with our customers and vendors • Share expertise with others Design Layout and Product Selection • Define the scope of the project • Plan the functional aspects and the visual look of the desired space • Design plan layout and product selection • Generate preliminary computer and or hand designs • Order product and schedule deliveries to satisfy customer needs and to maintain the profitability of the sale Sales and Margin • Meet and or exceed individual sales goals • Meet and or exceed individual margin goals Manage Order Profitability • Issue accurate and complete orders • Manage open order report Inventory and Merchandising • Maintain a neat and clean showroom appearance • Ensure product literature is current and in stock • Practice good merchandising including setup and traffic flow • Maintain inventory levels Performance Expectations • Do It Right The First Time - Strive to eliminate errors, prioritize work accuracy, seek opportunities to improve efficiencies • Excellent attitude and customer service skills. • Must be able to interact and communicate with supervisors, coworkers and customers in a positive and professional manner. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. • Education/Experience: College or trade school preferred, 2 or more years’ experience in design and layout of kitchens and baths • Language Ability: Effective communication skills both verbally and in writing with individuals inside and outside of the company • Math Ability: Ability to perform advanced mathematical calculations required to accurately complete assigned tasks • Reasoning Ability: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to use sound judgment and problem solving skills to analyze customer needs and to recommend the proper course of action. • Computer Skills: Proficient keyboard and computer skills including Microsoft office and other Company and discipline specific software applications • Certificates and License: Valid Drivers’ license acceptable to Company standards ; NKBA certified is a plus Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Involves overtime, weekends and longer work weeks at certain times of the year. Some flexibility may be available with work schedule depending on branch/business and customer needs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential physical requirements. • Ability to speak and read the English language • Talk and hear sufficient for interpersonal communication • Continual lifting and moving of products and materials • Lift and or move up to 35lbs. individually, on occasions may encounter greater weight lifting requirements • Required to sit up to 2-4 hours at a time • Manual dexterity of hands to fingers in order to do such tasks as using the phone and computer • Full range of motion with arms to shoulders in order to do such tasks as moving products to and from the shelves and setting up displays • May be required to climb stairs or ladders in order to do such tasks as moving products to and from the shelves and setting up displays • May be required to stoop, kneel or crouch in order to do such tasks as look for and or move products to and from the shelves and set up displays • Vision demands - Required to look and concentrate on a computer screen for up to 2-4 hours at a time. Ability to see close up and to adjust focus.
