NKBA New York Tri State Newsletter Summer 2017

Monday, June 12, 2017

It is certainly summer and for many of us there are likely graduations or weddings to attend. If you have any free time between vacations and weekend barbecues, perhaps consider one of the courses available on the NKBA website. Some of which are free.

Just a friendly reminder that Self-Nomination for Chapter Officer deadline is Friday, June 16th. If interested, please submit your nomination as soon as you can!

Summer certainly shouldn’t be rushed, but all good things do come to an end. Fortunately, that will also mean our golf event and Design Awards Gala is just around the corner! We are looking for sponsors for both events. Our annual golf event and fundraiser will be held on Monday, September 25th at The Fairways of Halfmoon in Mechanicville and the Design Awards Gala on Wednesday, December 6th (location to be announced later).

Don’t forget there is a Chapter Meeting on Wednesday, October 18th at Capitol District Supply in Saratoga Springs. More details later as they become available.

If there is any event that you want the chapter to know about or anything in the industry that you would like to know more about, please feel free to contact myself, Loretta Anderson, or Sarah Conley.

Seven Myths of LED Lighting

Wednesday, June 15, 2016 @ 5:30pm – 8:00pm
Wolberg Electric – Saratoga Springs Showroom
60 West Avenue
Saratoga Springs, NY 12866

LED lighting is no longer new, but some common misconceptions remain. This session will review seven of the most popular “hot-button” points about LED lighting, explain the misunderstanding and share how users can turn them from a negative to a positive aspect of lighting.

Often times, when discussing Energy Efficient product, the approach taken is “all or nothing”. To introduce Energy Efficient lighting into a home does not necessarily mean EVERY lighting fixture must be efficient. New technology may not necessarily provide a one-for-one replacement for incumbent technology. There may be heretofore unexpected advantages. By properly selecting energy efficient product and using them where they add value and function, the end result may turn a perceived negative into a positive.

Not just being “Wowed!” but more importantly setting the right expectations, making educated decisions and being connected to their professional designer in ways that are better than ever. This session will focus on both the demonstration and hands on use of Virtual Reality design and presentation tools that are now being introduced to the market. Tools that will enhance your design and sales process and provide the purchase journey that your clients are beginning to expect.
