The NKBA will add three additional badges to its microcredentialing program. By Loren Kessell

NKBA is stepping up the Specialty Badge Program in a big way. Color, Lighting and Sustainability are slated to join the badge family in the near future.

After last year’s success with the program, the NKBA is offering 45-minute test preparation classes followed by one-hour exams for three badges, including the new one in Sustainability, at KBIS 2020 in Las Vegas.

The schedule for classes is as follows:

  • Sustainability Specialty Badge     Tuesday, January 21 (1:00-3:00)
  • Cabinetry Specialty Badge             Wednesday, January 22 (1:00-3:00)
  • Remodeling Specialty Badge        Thursday, January 23 (10:00-12:00)

Additional information, including room locations at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will be available within the next few weeks, so stay tuned for announcements via e-mail and on www.nkba.org. Members wishing to take the test prep sessions and exam at KBIS must purchase the badge package prior to KBIS. And, head to www.kbis.com for more information about the show and badge programming.

NKBA Specialty Badges are a great way for badge holders to communicate that they have focused knowledge in a particular area of the kitchen and bath field. They are available to all members of the NKBA, whether remodelers, installers, sales representatives, marketing specialists, dealers or designers. Two other badges are currently available: Floorplans & Specifications and Sales & Marketing.
