KBIS 2010 Recap
The NKBA’s 47th annual Kitchen & Bath Industry Show attracted more than 37,000 attendees to Chicago’s McCormick Place this past April 16-18.
Exhibitors, which numbered nearly 700, received extensive media coverage from the more than 500 members of the registered consumer, trade, and business press. KBIS 2010 media coverage included television and radio stations, as well as national and local magazines and newspapers, online publications, and news wire services
Television personalities and celebrity chefs, such as Anne Burrell of Food Network’s Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, Curtis Stone of TLC’s Take Home Chef, Ed Sanders of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Monica Pedersen of HGTV’s Designed to Sell, and Bill Rancic of A&E’s We Mean Business, were among the lineup of dynamic speakers. In addition, the three-day event included a full conference program, kicked off with opening speaker Sergio Zyman, former Chief Marketing Officer of Coca-Cola, along with State of the Industry Address presenter David Kohler, President & COO of Kohler Co.
An awards ceremony was held to honor the winners of the 2010 NKBA Design Competition, which included the presentation of more than $100,000 in cash prizes, along with special acknowledgement through awards such as Best Kitchen, Best Bathroom, Pinnacle of Design, and the new Consumers’ Choice Awards.
The winners of the 2010 Best of KBIS Competition were selected and announced at the show, highlighting exceptional products introduced in the past 12 months for their functionality, quality, flexibility, aesthetics, style, and innovation.
