Membership Categories

Industry Member Firm: Corporation, Partnership, Sole Proprietor, etc. The membership will be listed in the name of the company and the principal(s) and other employees will be listed as "Member Employees." This enables the firm to place the NKBA logo on the premises and to use it on company stationery, business cards, advertising, etc., in keeping with NKBA policies on logo use. Member benefits, including special member pricing for products and services, are extended to all employees. Company must indicate a primary contact person to whom all mail, invoices, etc., will be mailed. Carries voting privileges of one vote for the company as a whole. Dues are based on gross revenue from kitchen and/or bath sales and/or services (see application).

Industry Member Branch: If the company owns branches (defined as bearing the same company name and carrying out the same line(s) of business as the parent), and it wishes to display the logo and have employees at each branch receive member benefits, the branch must also be listed as members of the NKBA and pay annual dues of $100 for each branch. The application fee is waived for member branches. Each member branch must name a contact person who is entitled to vote on behalf of the branch on any matters of NKBA business placed before the membership.

Other Industry Member Types: Self-employed and subsidiary members fall under Industry Member status due to the following: Self-Employed: Self-employed individuals earning their primary income from sales/services to the kitchen and/or bath industry must join as a Industry Member Firm (see above).

Subsidiaries: Firms, corporations or other entities that produce their own profit and loss statement but are either partially or wholely owned by a parent company. Subsidiaries of member firms are required to hold their own membership and pay annual dues in the name of the subsidiary company at the Industry Member Firm rate. The parent company is not required to hold NKBA membership.

Individual Employee of Member Firm: Employees of member firms that desire an individual membership must pay annual dues of $50. The application fee is waived for individual employees of Member firms. Individual Employee Members will be listed on the NKBA web site, receive voting privileges and have NKBA mailings sent directy to them. Mailings include the Association magazine, chapter meeting notices and other informational literature.

Individual Employee of Non-Member Firm: Employees of non-member firms may purchase an individual professional membership at an annual dues rate of $100. The application fee is waived for individual employees of non-member firms. Individual members may volunteer to serve on both local and national levels (with the exception of industry segment councils) and are entitled to voting privileges. They are permitted to use the NKBA logo only on their personal business cards, conveying membership to the individual member only.

Associate Business Member: Membership is available to any firm, corporation or entity providing auxiliary products or services to the kitchen and bath industry. Annual dues are $750. Associate members receive all mailings, discounts and other member benefits and may serve as officers of Program Advisory Councils. However, they may not vote in member elections or hold a national office with the Association. Educational institutions have a special dues rate of $300.

Associate Individual Employe Member: Membership is available to an individual providing auxiliary products or services to the kitchen and bath industry, paying annual dues of $150.
